Cain Elementary School supports many causes

The faculty, staff, students and parents at Cain Elementary have made many contributions to many charitable organizations this year in many different ways according to principal Cyndy Josephson.

For the month of October, November, December, February, March and April the teachers contributed $20 to wear jeans each day. Their contribution went to Breast Cancer Awareness-Komen, Project Joy, American Heart Association, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Komen Race for the Cure.

In May one of the teacher's husband will be running in the Boston Marathon. Teachers will have the opportunity to donate to the East Texas Food Bank on his behalf. Teachers will be able to wear jeans for the month of May if they make at least a $10 donation.

The students at Cain contributed $1,689.57 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society plus the high school Health Science Technology classes contributed $410 to our cause.

Totals for all of these contributions are currently at $4835 and the year is not over.
