Texas East team competes at state
Apryl Hansen of Tyler's Texas East Gymnastics Level 8 team is this year's Floor state champion. The championships were held in Plano at Infinite Bounds where athletes from all six Texas districts met to determine the best.

Other members of the Level 8 team are Amanda Hamilton (injured), Haven Hughes and Cori Roach.

Cori competed well and can add a fourth place finish on Floor at state to her resume. Haven also competed well; she placed second on Vault and Bars and third on Floor and the All Around.

Apryl slipped in behind Haven in the All Around with a fourth place finish.

Both Haven and Apryl qualified to the Level 8 Regional Championships. The meet will be in the Dallas metroplex area and will host gymnasts from Oklahoma, Wyoming, New Mexico, Kansas, Arkansas and Colorado.
