Grady G. "G.G." Stringer
Services for Grady G. "G.G." Stringer, 84, of New Chapel Hill were held April 26 at Bethel Baptist Church, Highway 64 East, with the Revs Mike Ford and Mike Bloodsworth officiating.

Burial was in Williams Cemetery under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler.

Mr. Stringer died April 23, 2008 in a Whitehouse nursing home.

He was born May 5, 1923 in Van Zandt County to the late Abraham Otto and Emily Barnett Traxlar Stringer. He retired from Penco Oil Co. after 35 years. He was a longtime member and deacon of Bethel Baptist Church and 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. He served as a Chapel Hill ISD board member for 10 years and was past president of Chapel Hill Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Evelyn Stringer.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Earline Stringer, New Chapel Hill; daughter, Diane Herod, McKinney; stepsons, Gerald Chennault, New Chapel Hill, and Kenneth Chennault, Whitehouse; brother, Frank Stringer, Dallas, seven grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.
