TES slates Head Start, Kindergarten registration

Head Start registration for the 2008-2009 school year has been scheduled for the week of May 6-9 at the Troup Head Start office, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Head Start will be taking applications for three- and fouryear olds. In order to qualify for enrollment in Head Start, a child must be three or four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2008, and must meet state income eligibility guidelines. Parents should bring the following information to register their child:
-- the child's birth certificate;
-- immunization record/Medicaid/
Insurance Card;
-- Social Security card(s);
-- proof of residency in the Troup
school district;
-- proof of income: Tax Return
2007/Child Support/Unemployment
(NO check stubs accepted).

The school must have these documents on file before a student can be entered into the computer system for the fall.

Kindergarten registration is also scheduled for the week of May 6-9 at the Troup Elementary School office (third-fifth building) between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Kindergarten students should be five years old by Sept.1, 2008.

Please bring birth certificate, Social Security card, immunizations and proof of residence.
