Junior high bands earn Sweepstakes

SEVENTH GRADE BRASS & PERCUSSION
During the week of April 7, the Whitehouse Junior High bands competed at the Region 21 UIL Concert/Sight Reading contest in Hallsville.

On April 10, the seventh grade band (non-varsity), under the direction of Joe Hewitt, received a "I" on the stage and a "I" in sight reading.

On April 11, the eighth grade band (varsity), also under the direction of Hewitt, received a "I" on stage and a "I" in sight reading, thus earning both bands a "Sweepstakes" trophy for the year.

Both bands received ones from six different judges for their hard work and dedication.

Both bands will be showcasing their contest tunes, among others, on Friday, May 22 at the Whitehouse Junior High in Nix Gym at 7 p.m.
