Students in Cindy Phillips' second grade class celebrated Earth Day by wearing green and participating in a two-week study on how to be Earth friendly. Phillips challenged her class to bring as many newspapers to class as they could for one week; they succeeded in bringing more than six feet of newspapers and won the challenge. On Earth Day, the class took part in several craft activities, planted flowers in recycled cans and had a huge Earth Day celebration.
