The JV squad finished the year 12-3 overall and 5-2 in district action, with second place finishes in both the Tyler and district JV tournaments.
With the varsity Ladycats posting their first playoff win this year, junior team members are showing the talent to keep the program on the right track.

The JV Ladycats finished 12- 3 on the season and 5-2 in district competition, under the leadership of head coach Jon Sheppard.

"I was so proud of my team this year," he said. "I had a fantastic group of young ladies on the field and off of it."

The girls finished second in the Tyler JV tournament, losing to the Hawkins varsity in the championship match.

They also took runner-up honors in the district tournament, after beating Marshall in extra innings to get to the title game.

The come-from-behind win over Marshall echoed a similar victory for the Ladycats against Kilgore, the team's biggest highlight of the year, according to Sheppard.

Trailing 8-1 in their last at-bat, Whitehouse scored seven runs to tie the game and then won 9- 8 in extra innings.

"I will never forget because it epitomized the efforts of my team the whole season," said Sheppard.

The Ladycats also forced eventual district champ Hallsville into extra innings during district play.
