Thompson, Norwood wed at Castle on the Lake

Ashley Nicole Thompson and Clinton Harding Norwood, both of Rusk, exchanged their wedding vows on Sept. 5, 2008 at Castle on the Lake in Jacksonville. Joe Ballard officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Duane Thompson of Rusk and Sue Ann and David Joseph of Jacksonville. Her grandparents are Kenneth and Vida Joseph of Jacksonville, Ann Spurgeon and the late Paul Spurgeon, Opal and Bud Cariker and Marshall and Kathy Thompson, all of Rusk. She is a nursing student at Tarrant County College.

The groom is the son of Jack and Anita Woody of Rusk and Mark and Joanie Norwood of McKinney. He is the grandson of Lewis and Betty McCrary of Rusk, Jack Woody Sr. of Palestine and Patt Hillman of Rusk. He is employed at Helmerich and Payne Drilling.

Attending the bride was her maid of honor Laura Yeley and bridesmaids Robin Weeks, Summer Zimmerman and Amberly Arnold. Also, Emily Thompson served as the flower girl.

Jack Woody served as best man and Robby Miller, Fredrick Wickware and Brandon Linthicum were groomsmen. Paytn Wood and Ashton Norwood served as ring bearers.

The bride wore a white satin Monique Luo A-line dress with pleated bodice and beaded lace and pearl appliqués sewn into fabric for an added sparkle finish, finished off with a sweep train that just brushes the floor.

Her veil was custom made, white fingertip length, single tier with beaded scalloped edge and crystal drop motif.

She carried a white ribbon tied bouquet embellished with large purple hydrangeas, white gerbera daisies and green buttons.

The reception followed at Castle on the Lake.

The couple's wedding trip was postponed due to the hurricane but was planned for Montego Bay, Jamaica.

They will reside in Fort Wor th.
