Tigers drops district games to Central Heights, Frankston
      In their district opener, the Tigers faced off with new opponent Central Heights, and the Blue Devils came away with a 32-24 win at Troup, with both teams playing strong defense in the low-scoring game. "Both teams struggled to shoot well," said Coach Brent Smith. "We shot 23 percent from the field while Central Heights struggled from the field as well.

Lady Tigers' comeback falls short to Lady Devils
      The Lady Tigers slipped to 2-1 in district play after losing a hear tbreaker to Central Heights last Friday, 45-44. The Lady Devils opened strong with a 16-point first period and took a 25-19 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Ladycats roll over Nacogdoches, 72-50
      Paced by Haylee Aldredge's 22 points, the Whitehouse Ladycats opened district play on their home court Tuesday with a 72-50 rout of Nacogdoches. The Lady Dragons played hard the whole night, but could only stay close through the first quarter.

Wildcats claim crown at Wagstaff
      It just seemed like he belonged there. Mitch Marquis could not count the thousands of shots he has taken in Wagstaff Gymnasium over the last five years, but, he was definitely in his comfort zone last week during the annual TJC Wagstaff Tournament as he earned tournament MVP honors in leading the Cats to another tournament title.

Cats grab OT win over Texas High
      Whitehouse outscored Texas High 18-5 in overtime Tuesday to earn a 71-61 win on its home court. Jacob Holmen was the game's high scorer with 23 points, while Mitch Marquis added 17. Blake Anglin and Quincy Aldridge were also in double figures with 10 each.

Ladycats claim 3rd place, Hill picks up 500th win
      Despite an early loss, the Copperas Cove tournament ended on a high note as Whitehouse rallied from a firsthalf deficit to defeat Killeen Ellison for third place. The tournament was also significant for Coach Willie Hill as the team's first-round win over Gatesville, 53-29, was his 500th career victory.

Sign up under way for Troup Little Dribblers
      The Little Dribblers League in Troup is registering players, with both girls and boys divisions available. The girls league, for ages first through sixth grades, begins Jan. 10 at 9 a.m. in the high school gym. The boys league, for the same ages, begins Jan. 17 at 9 a.m. in the elementary gym.
