Expanding Your Horizons, career workshops for middle school girls, will be held 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Saturday, March 28 at Tyler Junior College.

This is the 19th year that TJC has hosted the conference.

Female role models who use math, science, engineering or technology in their careers are invited to participate as workshop facilitators.

Anyone interested in being a role model is encouraged to contact Marian Jackson at 903-510-2759 or Vicki Stewart at 903-510-2503.

"Expanding Your Horizons gives career women an opportunity to give back to the community and to help young people make good career choices," Dr. Vickie Geisel said. "Last year, more than 500 girls from all over East Texas participated in the conference."

Brochures with application forms for students will be delivered to East Texas schools this month, and the registration deadline is March 13.

At the end of the conference, drawings will be held for prizes; and one of the par ticipating middle schools will be awarded $1,000 for its math and science programs.

Expanding Your Horizons was created in 1976 by the National Math/Science Network at Mills College in Oakland, Calif. For more information on EYH registration, call 903-510-2615 or go to www.tjc.edu/eyh.
