Parkinsonians of East Texas meet

Parkinsonians of East Texas will meet Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m. at East Texas Medical Center Pavilion, 801 Clinic Dr., Tyler. April is Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month. Speakers will be Dr. Bain, Dr. Plotkin and Helen Cassel, RN, NPC. Snacks will be served. Parking is free for the meeting.

Keep Whitehouse Beautiful meets

Keep Whitehouse Beautiful will meet Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at WH Assembly of God. The public is invited.

WH All School Reunion this weekend

The annual Whitehouse All School Reunion, 1920's- 1970 will be held at Cain Elementary in Whitehouse, Saturday, April 18 from 1-3 p.m. All former students and administrators welcome.

WH Chamber Expo Tuesday

The third annual expo and second Taste of Whitehouse is scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the C.L. Nix Gym at Whitehouse Junior High School. To reserve a booth or for more information, contact Andy Pitts at 903-521-1879.

WH library offers JobView

The library continues a helpful service for its patrons as well as anyone else that wants or needs to use it. JOBView is a tool for job searches locally or nationally. JOBView networks with state workforce services, Internet job sites, local and regional employers and updates its jobs daily.

WH Recycle Center open

Regular hours of operation for the Whitehouse Recycle Center are on Wednesdays from 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

FBC Mixon holds fish fry

First Baptist Church of Mixon at 4975 FM 177 East, Troup, is holding a Fish Fry Fundraiser on Saturday, April 18, 5:30-8:30 p.m. to help pay their building notes. Adult tickets are $10, 12 years and under $5.

Free marriage class offered

Twogether in Texas and VOW are offering a FREE Marriage Education Class in the Tyler Area on Saturday, April 18 at Shiloh Road Church of Christ, 1801 Shiloh Road in Tyler, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The class is open to all couples married or not. Pre-married couples will qualify for a certificate that will allow them to save $60 upon obtaining their marriage license upon completion of the class. WH Athletic Booster meet

The Whitehouse Athletic Booster Club will meet Monday, April 20 at 7 p.m. in the WHS commons area.

THS hosts art auction

Troup High School, in conjunction with the Troup Academic Booster Club, will hold their annual Art Auction Thursday, May 7. Viewing of projects will begin at 6 p.m. and the auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds from the auction will be awarded as scholarships for THS graduates of 2009.

League seeks prize donations

Whitehouse Baseball/Softball League is seeking contributions or raffle prize donations for their Opening Ceremony/Fun Day which is scheduled for May 2. The prizes or donations can be any amount or value and are tax deductible since the league is a non-profit organization. Contact Linda Honeycutt at 903-894-8797 to make a contribution.

WHS senior lock-in cancelled

It was decided at the Parent Meeting last Thursday night that due to lack of funds and parental participation, this year's senior lock-in is cancelled.
