Henry M. Bell Masonic Lodge to meet

Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge #1371 will meet Monday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. All Masonic Brothers are welcome to attend.

Troup American Legion Auxiliary meets

Troup American Legion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

Troup readies for Christmas parade

The Troup Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 3. The parade will form at 5:30 p.m. and is scheduled to start at 6. An entry form with additional information is available at www.trouptexas.org or by contacting the Chamber of Commerce at 903-842-4113.

WH park and parade Dec. 5

The Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce and YesterYear join forces again for a day filled with fun in the park and a parade full of joy on Saturday, Dec. 5. Parade forms and Kris Kringle forms are available at the Tri County Leader.

WH library offers JobView

The library continues a helpful service for its patrons as well as anyone else that wants or needs to use it. JOBView is a tool for job searches locally or nationally. JOBView networks with state workforce services, Internet job sites, local and regional employers and updates its jobs daily.

Regular library hours for the Whitehouse Community Library are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday 11-5. Call the library at 903-839-2949 or email at whitehouselibrary@hotmail.com.

Regular hours for the Cameron-J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 1-5 p.m., Thursday 3-7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Questions? Call the library at 903-842-3101 or visit their website http://www.trouptexas.org/library/ .

WH Recycle Center open

Regular hours of operation for the Whitehouse Recycle Center are on Wednesdays from 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

Church Activities

Whitehouse UMC hosts breakfast

The First United Methodist Church of Whitehouse hosts breakfast the first Saturday of the month from 8- 10 a.m. A full breakfast meal is served and donations are accepted. The church is located at 405 W. Main.

Night of Ministry at Tyler Metro

Tyler Metro Church is hosting Night of Ministry at their youth center on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. Spreading Gods’s healing and deliverance since 1995, Don Dickerman has also ministered in more than 850 different prisons. Karen Mayer Cunningham, Christian comedian and author of “Defying Autism” will be there as well as Ronnie Cummings who spent 18 ½ years in prison and now lives a saved-delivered-healed life. Fred Partin, 21 years behind bars, will bring the special music.

Bluegrass gospel music at Mixon

Mixon Missionary Baptist Church is hosting Bluegrass Gospel Music and supper on Saturday, Nov. 7. Supper starts at 4:30 p.m. followed by the music at 5 p.m. The church is located on Hwy 135N between Troup and Jacksonville. All donations are welcome and go to the church. School Activities

Veterans Day programs slated

Brown and Cain Elementary Schools will present Veterans Day programs on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Brown’s program will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the gym and Cain’s will begin at 9:30 in the cafeteria. Speakers and patriotic musical numbers will be included. All veterans and the public are invited to attend.

Government Activities

WISD trustees to meet

The Whitehouse ISD trustees will meet on Monday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Wildcat Drive Annex, 109 Wildcat Drive.

Troup City Council to meet

The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Troup City Council is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10. The meeting will be held at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.
