Helen Aline Smith Riley Services for Helen Aline Smith Riley, 85, of Nacogdoches will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 at the Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with Rev. Justin Beadles of Grace Bible Church, Nacogdoches officiating. Burial will follow at the Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville. Helen was born Feb. 14, 1924 to Andrew and Mattie Smith of Colmesneil. She passed away Nov. 14, at her home in Nacogdoches, after a short illness. A native of Tyler County, and previous resident of Colmesneil, she was the wife of the Rev. J.T. Riley, former pastor of several area churches. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Riley; parents, Andrew and Mattie Smith; sisters, Gene Rushing, Belle Schutte, Hazel Swearingen, and Ruth Jordan; and a granddaughter. Survivors include three daughters, Lynette Sanders of Nacogdoches, Margaret Murphy of Tyler, and Nancy Bailey of Allen; and one son, Travis C. Riley of Beaumont; six granddaughters, five grandsons; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Marie McDaniel of Longview, TX; numerous nephews and nieces and her friends in the “Cemetery Club.” |
