Whitehouse bows out to Longview, 52-9
      The stars had to line up just right last Friday night for Whitehouse to have a chance at pulling off an upset over No. 2-ranked Longview, and for one quarter it looked like that might have taken place. Unfortunately, at the end of four quarters the Lobos were on top 52-9.

      Any Whitehouse football or basketball fan can tell you that the name Aldridge is frequently heard on game nights, with brothers Quincy and Jonathan scoring touchdowns and baskets left and right.

Junior high girls split with Lufkin
      The Whitehouse Junior High Ladycats kicked off their 2009 season hosting Lufkin on Monday, Nov. 9. The eighth grade A team battled to a 25-23 overtime loss, while the seventh grade A team won big, 25- 12. The eighth grade B team also handily defeated their opponent, 13-4. The seventh grade B team suffered a narrow, 9-7, loss.

Ladycats take wins over Carthage, Lufkin Hudson
      The Whitehouse Ladycats showed a promising start to the 2009-10 season, posting wins over Carthage Saturday, 46-30, and Lufkin Hudson, 59-39, Tuesday at home. Senior guard Caroline Perrier led her team over Carthage with 19 points, including three from long-distance.

TMS boys open year with wins
      The Troup Middle School boys basketball teams kicked off their season with road wins over West Rusk. The seventh grade won 27-12, while the eighth grade triumphed 21-18. The seventh-graders were lead by Marquis Davis with seven points.Other scorers were Blake Lynch and Marcus Kincade with six each, and Charlie Rowden, Dallas Clements and Josh Early with two each.
