Agnes Pruitt Crew Agnes Pruitt Crew, 85, was born April 20, 1924 in Troup and died Jan. 21, 2010 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Funeral services were held Jan. 23 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at the Autumn Oaks Cemetery under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home. Officiating was Cowboy Church of Orange County Pastor Dale Lee. Agnes graduated from Troup High School and shortly afterwards, moved with her family to Orange where she worked as an alterations lady, in the business office at American bridge and after attending Chenier Business College, worked as an assistant city secretary of the city of West Orange until her retirement. She married Walter A. “Rip” Crew on Aug. 6, 1943. Agnes was a member of the Orange County chapter of Senior Citizens, the Troup group and a former member of the Orange County home demonstration club. Agnes enjoyed sewing and doing all types of handwork that’s proudly displayed in her home. Agnes is preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. “Rip” Crew; son, Walter Earl Crew; brother, Earl Pruitt; a sister-in-law, Freda Dunn; and two brothers-in-law. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Pam Scales Crew of Orange; a sister Lorene Baker of Mineola; two sisters-inlaws; a brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. |
