WH library offering summer fun

The Whitehouse Community Library is offering some community classes during the summer, as well as a night of fun for teens.

The library’s genealogy class is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, offering both beginning and how to instruction. Cost of the class is $5 with sign up at the front desk.

The librar y will of fer scrapbooking on Friday, June 25 and Friday, July 23, both beginning at 6:30 p.m. Participants must sign up for these classes also.

Teens age 13-16 are invited to the library’s Pizza/ Movie Night on Friday, Aug. 6. Pizza will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the movie to start sometime later. Reser vations are required for this event.

Visitors will note that the library is also spotlighting books on cooking and other summer-time crafts.


The library is looking for people to serve on its board of directors. This board meets once a month for about one hour. It determines policy and serves to maintain the financial condition of the library.

Also needed are people to serve on the Friends of the Library board. This is the group that operates to enhance the library and its activities. There is no limit on what this board can do and accomplish.
