Christine Revord Smith

Services for Christine “Grammy” Helena Revord Smith, 80, of Tyler will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Monsignor Joseph Strickland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Ms. Smith passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at The Hospice of East Texas located in Tyler.

Christine was born on Oct. 27, 1931 in Munising, Michigan to Delphis Revord and Caroline Adams-Revord.

She attended the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church in Tyler and she served in the US Army. Christine held the position of computer operator with Tyler ISD prior to her retirement.

Christine was recognized for her many years of volunteer service in the Tyler Community and with the Tyler Police Department.

She will continue her community service with her donation to the Willed Body Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents and two infant children.

She is survived by her loving family including her sons; Michael and his wife Suzanne of McKinney, David and his wife Melissa of Whitehouse and Stephen and his wife Kristin of San Antonio. Grandchildren include Taylor Smith of Sherman, Evan Smith of McKinney, Josh, Mallory and Hannah Smith of Whitehouse and Kennedy and Presley Smith of San Antonio. She is survived by one sister Philomene Ducas of Florence, Montana.

The family wishes to thank all the wonderful employees of The Hamptons Memory Care, The Clairmont Tyler, and The Hospice of East Texas for their extraordinary care and love throughout Grammy’s last years on earth.

Family visitation is scheduled at the conclusion of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Immaculate Conception Conference, 410 S. College Ave., Tyler, Texas 75702.
