Quilters’ Guild of East Texas to meet March 8 at FBC in Tyler

The Quilters’ Guild of East Texas will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, March 8 at First Baptist Church- South Campus, located at 17002 Highway 69 South, at 10 a.m.

Registration will open at 9:30 a.m. and coffee and morning snacks will be served. Opening of the meeting will commence at 10 a.m.

As part of this month’s agenda, the guest speaker will be Sandra Sims, who is also a member of QGET. A self-taught artist of sewing, Sims took many classes and learned the art of quilting, embroidery, and many other areas of sewing. Sims has taught quilting, tatting, embroidery, hand appliqué, and fabric origami.

The evening guild group will meet at The Nimble Thimble – 1813 Capitol Drive, Tyler (off Old Jacksonville) at 6:30 p.m. for a social/checkin.

The public is welcome, and may attend two meetings before officially joining the Guild.
