Community Activities

Outdoor warning system test

The City of Whitehouse will test the outdoor warning siren system Thursday, June 5 at 2 p.m. Should there be inclement weather the testing will be postponed to the following month.

TASCA hosts dance

Caddo Creek will play for the country & western dance at TASCA on Saturday, June 7, 7-9:30 p.m. Entry is $5. Tyler Area Senior Citizens Association is located at 10495 CR 2167 (Jim Russell Rd) in Whitehouse. Call Billie at 903-871-3217 for more details.

Wildcat EE Club meets

The Wildcat Extension Education Club meets at the Whitehouse YMCA, Monday, June 9, 7 p.m. Public is invited.

Henry M. Bell Masonic Lodge meeting

Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge #1371 will meet Monday, June 9 at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. All Masonic Brothers are welcome to attend.

Processed-free support group at YMCA

The Whitehouse YMCA will host a free support group for processed-free living on Tuesday, June 10 at 11:15 a.m. The Whitehouse YMCA is located at 301 Terry St. For more information contact Lavonia Nowell at 903-504-6321.

American Legion meetings Tuesday

Troup American Legion and the Legion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. at the Legion hall.

Library hours

Regular library hours for the Whitehouse Community Library are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 11 a.m.- 6 p.m., Fridays 11-5 and Saturdays 11-3. Story time is on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. Contact the library at 903-839- 2949 for more information. Registration is under way for the Summer Reading Program set to begin June 10.

Regular hours for the Cameron-J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 1-5 p.m. Thursday 3-7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call the library at 903-842-3101 for more information. Summer Reading Program begins June 18.

Recycle-Recycle-Recycle

Whitehouse Recycle Center is open Wednesdays from 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Avenue.

Troup has a self-service recycling receptacle. The Allied Waste Recycling bin is located at the corner of W. Bradford and N. Georgia.

Church Activities

Whitehouse UMC hosts breakfast

The First United Methodist Church of Whitehouse hosts breakfast the first Saturday of the month from 8- 10 a.m. A full breakfast meal is served and donations are accepted. The church is located at 405 W. Main.

Henry’s Chapel celebration

Henry’s Chapel United Methodist Church will celebrate the church’s 100th anniversary on Saturday, June 14, 2-4 p.m. The public is invited to attend this historical day.

Government Activities

Troup trustees to meet

Troup ISD trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday June 9 at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.

Troup City Council to meet

The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Troup City Council is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10. The meeting will be held at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.
