Whitehouse opened the 2017 volleyball season with a sweep over the Hallsville Lady Bobcats. In varsity competition, the Ladycats rushed to a 25-15 win in the first game, but Hallsville rebounded to upend Whitehouse 25-17 in the second game. The Lady Bobcats maintained momentum to prevail 25-19 in the third game to put the pressure on Whitehouse. more

The 7th Annual “Tee Off for Toys” Golf Tournament will be Monday Sept. 25, at Hideaway Lake Golf Course. Hosted by the Tyler Professional Firefighters Association, the four-player scramble benefits The Salvation Army’s annual Angel Tree program. Each player is also asked to bring an unwrapped toy ($10 and up value) with them on the tournament day.   more

The annual Tee Off for Hope Golf Tournament will be Monday, Sept. 11, at the Hollytree Country Club in Tyler. Registration and warm-up will start at noon and a shotgun start is slated for 1 p.m. Fees are $125 per player or $500 per team (four players), which includes green fees, unlimited range balls, dinner and special prizes. Cash awards will be $800 for first place, $500 for second place and $300 for third place. more
