Keep Whitehouse Beautiful meets

Keep Whitehouse Beautiful will meet at noon Monday, Sept. 11, at City Council Chambers. The public is welcome to attend and volunteers are needed. To learn more about KWB visit them on Facebook or their website www.Keepwhitehousebeautiful.com. 

Troup library to host fall luncheon

Cameron – J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library will be holding a Fall Luncheon at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9. Guest Speaker Bob Cook will give a presentation on the Tyler Rose Festival. The library is located at 102 S. Georgia St. in Troup. For more information call 903-842-3101.

East Texas Genealogy Society to meet

The East Texas Genealogy Society’s monthly meeting will be at 2 p.m. on Sept. 9 and will have a guest speaker. ETGS holds its monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at Tyler Public Library from 2 to 4 p.m. Meetings are free to the public. Recycle-Recycle-Recycle

Republic Services in Whitehouse picks up recycling on Wednesday. Recyclable items include paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans.

Troup has a self-service recycling receptacle. The Allied Waste Recycling bin is located at the corner of W. Bradford and N. Georgia.

Jam session and sing along

Jam session and sing along runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m. each Friday. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate. Acoustic instruments only. Music includes Country, Bluegrass and Gospel. TASCA members are free. Guests are $1 each. TASCA is located at 10495 CR 2167 (Jim Russell Rd), in Whitehouse. 

American Legion weekly events

American Legion in Troup at 301 Magnolia has pool tournaments beginning at 7 p.m. each Wednesday night. 

Church Activities

Community prayer breakfast

Brotherhood will be hosting a community wide prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the First Baptist Church of Omen located at Highway 345 and County Road 285 two miles west of Arp. Everyone is encouraged to join in fellowship, food and prayer. Invite friends and neighbors to join as well. All are welcome. For more information, call 903-859-1082.

Youth/School Activities

American Legion weekly events

Those who are interested in 4-H Robotics and are a senior age (grades 9 – 12) 4-H member can attend an interest meeting on at 6:30 p.m. on Sept 14th at 20026 CR 2162 (home of Lylyan Nobles).
