The regular monthly meeting of the East Texas Genealogical Society will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, in the Taylor Auditorium of the Tyler Public Library, located at 201 South College. Meetings are free and open to the public.
Guest speaker Marynell Bryant will present the topic, “Quill and Scrawl – Ease the Pain of Early Handwriting.”
Bryant will share examples from census records and court records that will be used to teach deciphering techniques. Bryant will also give out several handouts that will offer examples of handwriting problems.
