Brook Hill Lady Guard 4, Bishop Gorman Lady Crusaders 5, PK Making their way back into district action last week was the Brook Hill Lady Guard varsity soccer team, traveling the short distance to Tyler for a battle against the Bishop Gorman Lady Crusaders Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Bishop Gorman High School. In the contest, the Lady Guard and Lady Crusaders were evenly matched up, as both teams capitalized on offensive opportunities, tying the contest, 2-2, at the end of regulation, forcing the game into a shoot out of penalty kicks. more

Whitehouse head coach Derrick Jenkins mentored a talented but young baseball team this season. The talent got the Wildcats into the State playoffs but inexperience kept Whitehouse from advancing in post-season competition. Facing College Station, ranked ninth in the State Class-5A poll, Whitehouse fell in the first of a three-game playoff series Thursday, May 3. The Cougars captured the second game to claim the bi-disrict series win. College Station advanced to the area round to face Tomball Memorial. more
Hilltop Country Club in Troup hosted the Senior Scramble Tuesday, July 24. The winning team of Sue Olson, Coy Olson, Bill Kyle, Ray Griffith and John Snell posted a minus -13. In the closest-to-the-pin contest, Rusty Adams won the sixth green (176 inches) and Coy Olson won the 17th green (80.5 inches). more
