The Brook Hill Lady Guard varsity soccer team was back in action last week, as the team hosted a non-district matchup against the Sabine Lady Cardinals Friday, Jan. 5, at Brook Hill’s Herrington Stadium at Young Field.

Throughout the majority of the contest, the home team Brook Hill was able to capitalize on offensive opportunities against the Sabine defense, as the Lady Guard put four kicks into the net, allowing Brook Hill to claim the win over Sabine, 4-0.

According to Lady Guard soccer head coach Becky Knight, the names of the Lady Guard players who scored goals in the contest are currently unavailable, pending a coach’s review.

“The girls are looking stronger and stronger each game,” said Knight. “Our hard work is paying off and we are feeling more confident heading into district next week.”

With the win over the Sabine Lady Cardinals, the Brook Hill Lady Guard varsity soccer team currently holds a 4-1-1 record on the 2017-2018 season.

Next week: Tuesday, Jan. 9 – Brook Hill at Bishop T.K. Gorman; Friday, Jan. 12 – Brook Hill at Grace Community; Saturday, Jan. 13 – Brook Hill versus Louisiana School at Grace Community.
